Updated 10/4/2019. Norfolk Southern services between Kansas City, MO and Moberly, MO are still suspended due to the collapse of the Grand River Bridge in Brunswick, MO on Wednesday, October 2.

Please note that delays in shipments to and from Kansas City will be a minimum of 48-72 hours, while some shipments will be at a standstill.

Norfolk Southern has suspended service between Kansas City, MO and Moberly, MO due to the collapse of the Grand River Bridge in Brunswick, MO on Wednesday, October 2. All detour options are being reviewed and utilized where available. Please note that delays in shipments to and from Kansas City will be a minimum of 48-72 hours, while some shipments will be at a standstill.

The ingate at Kansas City is closed to all shipments and all origin-facility ingates are closed to all shipments billed to Kansas City, effective as of mid-day Wednesday, October 2. The Kansas City facility remains open, but encourages customers to outgate equipment to increase terminal fluidity.

The collapse on Tuesday evening was the result of debris striking the bridge. Heavy rains and current flooding in the area are delaying any damage repair efforts at this time. There is no estimate on when the bridge will be restored to service, as river levels are expected to rise to over 27 feet by the weekend.
